What Can You Do?

There are number of things you can do to put pressure on the government and ACC, these have been listed below ordered from least to most effort:

  1. Print this poster and put it somewhere public.

  2. Email your MP (list of MPs email addresses here) and Nick Smith, the Minister for ACC (n.smith@ministers.govt.nz).

  3. Copy the pre-written submission from here, add your details and send it.

  4. Copy the pre-written submission from here, edit this to refelect your own views and send it.

  5. Write your own submission and send it.

  6. Phone your local MPs office and express your dissatisfaction, but keep it polite.

  7. Visit you locals MPs office and express your dissatisfaction.

  8. Participate in a (or many) protest ride.

  9. Hire a lawyer to challange the legality of targeting a minority group.

Don't know Your MP?

If you know what electorate you are in, skip this bit.

Look up your electorate on http://www.elections.org.nz/mapping/ , just type your address in the search box on the left hand side.

Find your MP on the page http://www.parliament.nz/en-NZ/MPP/MPs/MPs/, select Electorate/List and the your electorate, then press Go.

This displays who your MP is.......but it does not list their electorate office details. The easiest way I know from here is to look them up in the phone book.

A full list of all MPs emails addresses here

If someone knows a simpler way to do all this then email me.
